I graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in print journalism. However, I also have experience in broadcast. Three years of experience in newspaper writing and reporting and a year's experience in marketing and public relations, specifically writing press releases.
Experience
I have reported for the weekly newspaper the Elkin Tribune in Elkin, NC, and the daily newspaper the Shelby Star in Shelby, NC. I now am in public relations for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System where I write press releases and collaborate on marketing copy. I am also one of the editors of the marketing department; proofing all copy that leaves the hospital (articles, editorials, ad copy, brochures, etc.)

Hobbies
I'm interested in helping students with writing assignments as well as proofing their work. I'm confident that through my experience, I can help students who outline their assignment. While my work hours are filled with writing, so is my downtime. I run a classic film website (Comet Over Hollywood) where I write content about pre-1968 films, which also takes me to film festivals. Outside of work in films, I also enjoy exercise and am involved in tap and hip hop classes.
